During the Second World War we can still see how crowded the square was even in a time of war. So if a town square is crowded during a time of war, then it will only be more crowded when the war is over, and even more crowded during economic boom times. Thus, if a store were to be opened up on the square they would do fairly good business. Also, any business that is on a street corner will become very successfull on the simple fact that it has the benefit of traffic flowing in multiple directions. So in seven years Whitey's will be born on the square. In about seventeen years Whitey's will be moved to the corner of the West Side of the square leading it to a business that will last over sixty years.
| While the Whitey's still didn't exist yet (this is 7 years before Whitey's moves in), this picture illustrates how the square was still heavily trafficed even during the second world war. |

West Side--Medina Square--WW2--Rationing |
| Description |
Not even recomended rationing could keep people away from the square (hence the title). This dedication to the square is what led the owner of Whitey's to pick the location at the end of the street shown above just seven years later. |
